Black Axil Chromis
(Chromis atripectoralis)
The Black Axil Chromis is also known as the Black Fin Chromis or Blue Green Puller. This beautiful blue green Chromis is often confused with Chromis viridis. It is quite difficult to identify the difference between these two species. However, they can be differentiated by the color of their fins. The base of the pectoral fin of the Black Axil Chromis will be black with the Blue Green Chromis's appearing dusky from dark dots on the pectoral fin. Not often seen in the aquarium trade but quite lovely. They can grow to a little over 4.5".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 50 gallons or larger for this species.
Water conditions: Salinity 1.020 - 1.025, Temp (F) 72 - 78, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Alkalinity 8 - 12 dKH
