Spotted Drumfish
(Equetus punctatus)
The Spotted Drumfish are also known as Spotted Ribbonfish. Occasionally seen in the aquarium trade. Spotted Drumfish are quite unique with juvenile and adult color differences. Juveniles are attractive with their white body and black body stripes with white spots on the dark areas of their dorsal and tail fins. Adults have similar stripes but more of them along with spots and dashes over their dorsal, tail and anal fins. Their dorsal and tail fins become smaller as they mature. They can grow to 10".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 100 gallons or larger for this species.
