Blue/Yellow Grouper

Blue/Yellow Grouper are also sometimes known as the Redbnded Grouper, Blacktip, Footballer, Redbarred, Scarlet Rock or Weathered Rock Cod. Not often seen in the aquarium trade. Blue/Yellow Groupers are an overall blue violet to gray blue color with light blue spots, bright yellow fins and jaw. As the fish begins to mature the yellow color begins to fade with larger adults typically being dark gray, blue, purple, red brown to almost black. Blue/Yellow Groupers can grow to a little over 35" however are more commonly seen at around 18".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 300 gallons or larger for this species.
