Yellow Band Fairy Wrasse
(Cirrhilabrus luteovittatus)
The Yellow Band Fairy Wrasse is also sometimes known as the Yellow Streaked Fairy Wrasse. Occasionally seen in the aquarium trade. Coloration of the Yellow Band Fairy Wrasse may depend on maturity, collection area or breeding period. Male Yellow Band Fairy Wrasse have an overall maroon color, dark stripe at the base of their pectoral fin, bright yellow stripe on their side, blue stripes on their dorsal and anal fins. Females have an overall purple to olive color, two rows of red spots from their pectoral fin to their caudal fin, light orange dorsal fin, dark spot on the base of its pectoral fin and a black spot on their upper caudal peduncle. Yellow Band Fairy Wrasse can grow up to almost 5".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 50 gallons or larger for this species.
