Heart Urchin

Anametlia Urchins are generally found in sandy bottomed areas of the reef living in mucus lined burrows. They have long tentacles that reach out over the sand and pick up small pieces of organic materials from the sediment they live in. Urchins may disturb substrate and other tank inhabitants. It's essential to avoid using copper-based treatments in a tank with sea urchins, as it can harm them. Always follow the recommended guidelines for medication use in marine aquariums.

They are typically a reddish-brown or purplish-brown color, but the exact hue can vary based on environmental factors. They can grow to a maximum size of around 2" to 3" in length. However, size can vary among individuals, and larger specimens have been recorded.
